Tasmeem Doha: Hawwil Print Fair

  1. Tasmeem Hawwil Print Fair VCUarts Qatar.
    February 7-9 2026
As part of the programming for Tasmeem Doha Hawwil 2026, a print fair was organized, bringing together publishers, designers, and printmakers from around the world. I assisted in the planning and organization of the event as well as the selection and curation of publishers and exhibitors.

Tasmeem Doha is an international art and design biennial, hosted by VCUarts Qatar since 2004. Each edition of Tasmeem explores a contemporary theme through experimental formats, cross-disciplinary engagement, and critical discussions.

Tasmeem Doha Hawwil 2026 is led by co-curators Hind Al Saad, Reham Mohamed, and Sara Al-Afifi.

The Arabic word حَوِّل (Hawwil) translates to “transmit” or “relay,” symbolizing the transfer of knowledge and ideas from one person to another. It also conveys the notion of redirection—encountering new knowledge that can transform one’s creative journey. This openness to share and receive information fosters a dynamic relationship within the community, enabling a network of individuals to grow and push each other further.
